In our last post, we talked about finding the ink yield of a black cartridge in a DesignJet XL 3800. While there was some mystery about the exact numbers, it was still pretty clear that this cartridge had a very good yield.

When we launched RMX Analytics and spoke directly with a number of RMX Partners, we kept hearing how ink yields are a hot topic. So, with that in mind, we headed off into the Printerpoint database of over 10 million print jobs to see what we might learn.

RMX’s TM-305s crush the competition when it comes to square footage output. But they fall short on total ink usage. Let’s find out why and what we can learn from the data.
